VERN RAPP

05/11/1928 – 12/31/2015

Born in St. Louis, MO and has been a resident of the Denver area since 1958. He is survived by his wife Audrey of 64 wonderful years. Also four daughters, Sherry Johnston (Andy); Sue Ross (Mark); Nancy Nye (Jim); Beth Ackerson (Charles), as well as 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, brother Gerard Rapp and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brother Robert Rapp. Vern served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War for two years. He played, coached and managed Professional Baseball 1946-1984. He managed The Indianapolis Indians, The Denver Bears, The St. Louis Cardinals, and The Cincinnati Reds; he coached The Montreal Expos. He worked locally with Empire Savings and George T. Sanders Company. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church. He leaves us with hearts full of loving memories, valuable life lessons and a continual reminder of the importance of God and family.
