Sir Knight Mark Thomason Family
It is with great honor to recognize the family of Brother Sir Knight Mark as the Nativity of Our Lord Family of the Month for January 2020.
Mark provides endless energy and compassion to Nativity of Our Lord parish community as the staff Director of Faith Alive Programs, facilitating religious formation for the youth of our parish community.
Brother Sir Knight Mark is a 3rd generation member of the first council west of he Mississippi; Council 539, Denver, CO. Mark joined the Knights at the age of 10 as a Squire, 33 years ago. Mark is in the process of grooming his five young sons to become Squires when they reach the age of 10 to follow in the heritage of the Thomason family’s dedication to the Knights of Columbus. In keeping of the family tradition of following the Knights of Columbus, Brother SK Mark’s brother and nephew are also members of the Knights of Columbus.
Mark and his wife Nicole were married at the Vigil Mass of the Solemnity of the Blessed Virgin Mary on Dec. 31, 2007 at the Cathedral of St. Mary in St. Cloud, MN. Their wedding rehearsal included rehearsal, an hour of adoration, confession, and dinner.
Mark and Nicole met during graduate school at the Franciscan University of Steubenville, studying for their Masters in Theology Degrees. Both Nicole and Mark have BS Degrees in Art and provide beautiful works of art that are present throughout the offices of Nativity of Our Lord and displayed at various parish and community Craft Fairs.
St. Vincent DePaul Grade School in Denver is blessed to have SK Mark’s wife Nicole as a teacher, and our church is more blessed to have her as a mother of five boys.
It is with great honor to acknowledge Mark and Nicole Thomason as the Nativity of Our Lord Council 10961 2020 January Family of the Month. Their name will be submitted to the State Council for consideration as the Colorado State Family of the Month for January 2020.
